Privacy Policy

Last updated: December 30, 2025

CakeSocial helps agencies, brands, and creators plan, approve, and measure campaign posts. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you use CakeSocial on behalf of a team or organization, the terms “you” and “your” include that organization.

Data Collected

  • Account & team data: names, emails, roles, authentication details, and team membership.
  • Campaign collaboration data: briefs, approvals, messages, schedules, and post drafts you create in CakeSocial.
  • Media & links: files you upload and URLs you attach to posts.
  • Platform connection data: when you connect Facebook (Meta), Instagram, or TikTok, we receive account identifiers, handles, profile images, page/account metadata, permission scopes, and access tokens (stored securely). We store post URLs/IDs and performance metrics only for posts you connect to a campaign or publish through CakeSocial. We do not store your platform passwords and we do not store copies of your platform media files.
  • Public data: if you provide a public post link without connecting an account, we may collect publicly available metrics for that specific post.
  • Usage data: device, browser, IP address, and logs to keep the service reliable and secure.

Use of Data

  • Provide, maintain, and improve CakeSocial features.
  • Coordinate approvals, scheduling, and collaboration workflows.
  • Sync post metrics for connected or published posts, and generate CSV exports.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Communicate with you about updates and support requests.

Sharing

  • Within your workspace: campaign data is shared with invited agency/brand team members based on the permissions you set.
  • Service providers: trusted vendors that host infrastructure, store files, or provide analytics under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Legal & safety: we may disclose data to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal data.

Facebook (Meta)

If you connect a Facebook Page, we access data through Meta’s APIs to verify the account, show page details, and sync metrics for posts you connect or publish through CakeSocial. We store tokens (encrypted), page identifiers, and the limited metrics required to provide the service. Disconnecting a Page stops future syncing.

Instagram

If you connect an Instagram Business account, we access data through Meta’s APIs to verify the account and sync metrics for posts you connect or publish through CakeSocial. We store tokens (encrypted), account identifiers, and limited metrics needed for reporting. You can disconnect or revoke access at any time.

TikTok

If you connect a TikTok account, we access data through TikTok’s APIs to verify the account and sync metrics for posts you connect or publish through CakeSocial. We store tokens (encrypted), account identifiers, and limited metrics needed for reporting. You can disconnect or revoke access at any time.

Retention

We retain data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account or disconnect platform integrations to stop further syncing. Backups are retained for a limited period for security and disaster recovery, and may not be removed immediately from all systems.

Your Choices

  • Disconnect social accounts at any time to stop new data syncs.
  • Control which campaigns and posts are visible to brand or agency partners.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of your data through in-app support.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Children’s Privacy

CakeSocial is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date.
